European Security Model

The European Security Model is an integrated EU security architecture containing common tools for collaboration between law enforcement authorities and judicial bodies within the Member States. It is defined in the Internal Security Strategy. It also includes addressing the causes of insecurity and not just its effects, with priorities on prevention across sectors (political, economic, social, etc.). The model rests on the assumption that the very concept of internal security needs to be seen as a comprehensive concept that cuts across various sectors in seeking to address major threats.
